Description

Well, a bit of an unexpected turn of events for my watchers, huh? I haven't done any sort of countdown pic or anything of the like, so I decided to do so for this occasion! In the spirit of Halloween, which will be creeping its way closer and closer every day, I have decided to give you this list! The blank version can be found here.

Disney villains are some of my favorite characters, no doubt about it. Whether they be humorous, sarcastic, scary, or outright evil, they are definitely very entertaining and have their place of importance in their respective movies. To honor these dark and nasty individuals, I give you My Top 15 Disney Villains!

Keep in mind the key word here: MY. This list is solely driven by my opinion and is not a conclusive list of the best Disney villains out there. Also, this list mainly consists of the villains from the Animated Classics, so there are no Pixar or Dreamworks villains. No live-action villains are allowed here either. However, I say MAINLY and not ONLY, because there is one exception to this rule.

Honorable Mentions (In No Particular Order)
Cruella De Vil- Very fashionable... and crazy.
Lady Tremaine- Worst stepmother ever.
Horned King- Scary beyond belief.
Percival C. McLeach- Very entertaining and better than Madame Medusa.
Chernabog- ...He's pretty much the Devil. Enough said.
Queen of Hearts- "OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!"

Shout Outs
Lotso- For being strawberry scented, he is pretty evil.
Sid- I'm half convinced that he's going to grow up to be something horrible someday...
Syndrome- If he can't be a superhero, NO ONE CAN.
Fidget- A creepy yet awesome bat with a voice to match!

And one more thing: there is going to be a MAJOR spoiler alert for one certain Disney movie. It comes up near the end of this list.

Without further adieu, here are My Top 15 Disney Villains!

15.) Captain Hook- Peter Pan
What a classic! Captain Hook is a very humorous entry to the Disney villains archive, and when you watch him in the movie, he does allow for a few good laughs, especially when the crocodile chases him in his defeat. "SMEE! SMEE!" I love certain villains who serve as comic relief, and Captain Hook is an excellent example of this.

There's not much else I can say; he's just too classic of a villain to pass up on, which is why he remains #15 on my list.

14.) Yzma- The Emperor's New Groove
How many of you remember this movie? I'm guessing not too many. Well, anyway, Yzma is a very entertaining villain, especially in a few moments like, "WRONG LEVER!" "I'll turn him into a flea, a harmless little flea... and when it arrives, I'll smash it with a hammer!" Plus, she gets turned into a cat, one of my favorite animals ever, and that is also a rather entertaining moment.

Also, I REALLY want her lab. You get to ride a roller coaster to get to it, and then you'll find all kinds of potions to mess with!

For these reasons, Yzma takes her place on this list at #14.

13.) Shan-Yu- Mulan
This guy is so intimidating, possibly even frightening. Not only does he have wicked eyebrows, but his glare could cut through glass, and his eyes are very inhuman-looking. His build is that of someone that could possibly crush your head. His voice sends chills up my spine. He takes the Great Wall of China as a challenge, and he has a whole army to back him up, should things turn for the worse. He and that army destroyed an entire village and killed everyone that lived in said village.

Not only that, but his death is one of my personal favorites, being launched into boxes of fireworks and exploding with them. It also doesn't help that Mulan is one of my personal favorite Disney movies.

With all of this combined, Shan-Yu has earned his place as #13.

12.) Queen Grimhilde (Evil Queen)-  Snow White
Coming from the very first Animated Classic, Queen Grimhilde set the bar for every Disney villain to come after. Though others have raised it even higher since her appearance, she still remains as one of the greats in the Disney villain archive.

She is probably the most vain Disney villain of them all, for she was willing to kill poor Snow White just so she can be the "fairest" in the land. A little bit much, don't you think?

I can't say much else, honestly; she's just a classic, and it's no denying that she is an awesome Disney villain. She definitely deserves her spot as #12 on my list.

11.) Mother Gothel- Tangled
A more recent Disney villain, this evil woman just wants to be youthful forever. I can understand where that comes from; no one wants to grow old and die. However... stealing a baby from its home? Come on, Gothel.

She is reminiscent of Judge Claude Frollo due to how she keeps Rapunzel locked up in the tower all her life without letting her a chance to go out into the world. Also, like Frollo, she manipulates Rapunzel into thinking that she is the good guy here, and that she wants to protect her from the outside world... right?

What separates her from Frollo is the fact that she keeps Rapunzel in the tower solely for her hair, which has magical healing properties. This villain is very much evil for keeping the poor girl in the tower all her life and even stabs Flynn Rider when he shows up to take Rapunzel away. However, that's not why Mother Gothel's so evil; it's how she manipulates her into thinking nothing more than that the only safe place is in the tower, and even then, she will only be loved for her hair. A sad existence that Gothel is putting her through.

Two more things I like about Gothel: 1.) Mother Knows Best, her villain song. It has a different tone than expected for a Disney villain song, making her seem like the good guy. 2.) Her death. After Flynn cuts all of Rapunzel's hair, Mother Gothel proceeds to age very rapidly, and she stumbles toward a window and falls down from it as she transforms into dust. Rather disturbing but satisfying, in my opinion.

For all of these reasons, Mother Gothel takes her place as #11 on my list.

10.) Oogie Boogie- The Nightmare Before Christmas
And here we have our one exception to the "Disney classics" rule. First of all, Nightmare Before Christmas is one of my all-time favorite animated movies, next to the film mentioned at #1. Of course I have some personal bias. Second, this guy is just so awesome of a character that I can't leave him out of the list. Also, before you ask, yes, Nightmare Before Christmas is a Disney movie.

He is, quite literally, a sac full of bugs. When Lock, Shock, and Barrel kidnap Sandy Claws, they leave him at the hands of this guy, a cheating gambler who definitely doesn't mind having lives on the line (except his, of course). We first get fully introduced to him with his villain song, which is a lot of fun with colorful visuals to top it off.

We don't see him very much else in the movie, but when we do, he is almost always at his best. The moment when he has Sally and Sandy Claws near the ends of their ropes is somewhat tense, but it shows that he cheats when he gambles, and he is definitely having fun as he gambles with their lives, laughing about it in the process. The final conflict between him and Jack is so much fun to watch, with all kinds of death traps shown in full detail. However, this soon leads to his death scene, which shows him... being skinned alive and his innards falling into the fiery pit below as they scream "MY BUGS!" Disturbing, is it not? Well, it's still a great scene.

His villain song, the way he gambles with others' lives, and his final scenes are all he needs to take the #10 spot.

9.) Jafar- Aladdin
Now we're getting to the big guns. Jafar is a rather creepy but awesome bad guy, with a parrot sidekick named Iago, who's actually voiced by Gilbert Gottfried... I'm not sure what to think of that.

Anyway, first off, his voice is rather cool. It's almost chill-inducing, honestly. Almost. Not quite, but almost. It's definitely the voice of a villain, that's for sure. Second, he has an awesome song: the Prince Ali Reprise. Though short, it is a highlight of the villain, in my opinion, with such lines like, "Read my lips and come to grips with reality," and, "Say hello to your precious Prince Ali!" Plus, he's basically using Aladdin's song against him. That's pretty cool. His other villain song, You're Only Second Rate, is good, too.

In Aladdin, his goal is to become sultan and ruler of Agrabah. However, in order to do so, he came up with a plan to marry Princess Jasmine and become sultan. Kinda creepy, don't you think? I mean, he's obviously a lot older than her, but hey, it's his plan, not mine.

Also, he is very powerful, using powers of hypnosis and other kinds of magic, and this helps him in his plans. He has also taken on several different forms, including a snake, a sorcerer, and a genie. Though, the latter is his downfall... He ends up getting trapped in his own genie lamp by the end of Aladdin, and in the second movie, Return of Jafar, when his lamp is destroyed, he ends up dying as well.

All in all, genie or not, Jafar shall remain as #9 on my list.

8.) Scar- The Lion King
This guy has to be one of the most popular Disney villains out there... and it's not hard to see why.

First of all, he has one of the best Disney villain songs ever: Be Prepared. It's an amazing scene in which we see a bunch of lackluster hyenas be turned into quite an army. Scar's army. Not to mention, the song and music are just delightfully wicked. It's definitely one of the highlights of Scar's appearance in the movie.

Second, he has this manner about him that just betrays just how evil he is. He is less of a humorous villain as well, being a very formidable and evil foe, and to be honest, though I like humorous villains, it seems very fitting that Scar is just so evil.

Also, let's not forget that he killed the very King of the jungle, his brother Mufasa. Not only is this possibly his most wicked act in what we see in The Lion King, but it is such a memorable moment as well. Oh, and who can forget that line: "Long live the king." It sends chills throughout me.

Oh, yeah, and he gets eaten by the hyenas at the end. Yep. At least they showed a portion of the shadow on that part instead of all the gruesome details.

His evil manner, villain song, and devilish deeds make him my 8th favorite Disney villain.

7.) Judge Claude Frollo- The Hunchback of Notre Dame
If this list was being determined solely by how evil these villains are, Frollo would most probably take a spot in the top 3, if not the #1 spot.

Despite belonging to the church, there is a long list of evil deeds that he commits throughout the movie. He murders a woman, tries to drown her "deformed" infant child named Quasimodo, decides to keep him in the church only for him to teach him that the world hates him because of his different appearance, wishes to see all gypsies die yet gains a lustful interest for a gypsy woman named Esmeralda, threatens to kill her and eventually tries to kill her and Quasimodo. Even with all of this in mind, he still is convinced that he is a good Christian.

Anyway, this villain just frightens me and makes me hate him all at once. I believe it's because it's of his evil deeds that he has committed, especially when he murders the mother and attempts to drown the baby as well. However, that's probably why he's on the list: he's very good at being a villain. He's not meant to be humorous or sarcastic; he's the guy you wish death upon, and it's as clear as crystal. Well done.

Plus, I should mention his villain song: Hellfire. It's very chilling, describing his lust for Esmeralda and that she should die in the fire, should she not choose him. He knows that she's driving him to sin, and that other, strictly Christian side of him wants to kill her for that reason, and it's very clear in this song. It's arguably one of the best Disney villain songs out there.

I also absolutely love how this guy dies. He falls from the top of the church while holding onto a gargoyle-like stone pillar, which gains a face resembling a demon, and to the lava below. It's full of symbolism and is definitely satisfying, considering how much one would hate the character at that point.

Being arguably the most truly evil Disney villain of them all, Judge Claude Frollo ends up as #7 on my list.

6.) Ursula- The Little Mermaid
This sea witch is definitely one you do not want to make any sort of deal with, for if you do, you're almost definitely screwed. However, she is definitely one of the best Disney villains out there.

First off, let's mention her awesome villain song: Poor Unfortunate Souls. It's grows in intensity all the way throughout, and by the end, it's perfectly wicked and intense at the same time. Plus, it's one of my personal favorite songs from The Little Mermaid, if not my favorite.

Now, Ursula is a very twisted creature who makes deals with people so that they can achieve what their hearts desire. Sounds fair enough, but if they cannot give their part of the deal, they become Ursula's possession. Yeah. That's no deal I want any part of, thank you very much.

She also has a lust for power, it seems, due to the fact that she wants to rule the land AND the sea. In fact, she makes a deal with poor Ariel to do so, in which the girl becomes more human, and the sea witch gets her voice. However, she uses this to get to Prince Eric (with a human form, whose name is Vanessa,) and this causes all kinds of trouble.

This leads to Ursula's rather disturbing death: getting impaled by the ship and getting electrocuted by lightning. Not a very pleasant way to go.

Her lust for power, awful consequence for not living up to deals, villain song, and her iconic status as a Disney villain make her my 6th favorite Disney villain.

5.) Maleficent- Sleeping Beauty
And now, ladies and gentlemen, we have my favorite Disney villainess of all time: Maleficent, the terrible fairy from Sleeping Beauty.

This being just gives off an essence of evil that no other Disney villainess can, and it's not just for her awesome attire; it's also for her personality and evil deeds. She is an obviously sinister being who really is not afraid of being extra evil, especially when she's not invited to their daughter Aurora's Christening... Due to her not being invited, she curses the baby to death

Keep in mind that this was before the time Frollo showed his face in Disney animation. This happened in 1959, decades before Scar was killing kings and Ursula was making deals. Sure, the Evil Queen came first, but Maleficent cursed this baby to die on its 16th birthday, making the next 16 years after the Christening agonizing for the King and Queen. Not cool, Maleficent. Not cool.

In addition to all of this, she transforms into a dragon in the final conflict between her and the Prince (I forget his name ^^;,) and it's an awesome dragon form at that, breathing green fire and containing "all the powers of Hell," quote Maleficent. What a way to finish it off! Well, granted this does lead to her death of getting stabbed in the heart with a sword and falling off a cliff- hold it. How come Disney villains, of all villains, get the worst and most horrible deaths?

Oh, and she also calls herself the "mistress of all evil." I can definitely see where that title comes from.

Her terrible power, horrible ways, "mistress of all evil" title, and the truly iconic status she has puts Maleficent above all other Disney female villains on my list of favorite Disney villains at #5.

4.) Hades- Hercules
Here we have another example of a funny villain, but unlike Captain Hook, he can surely be frightening. At #4 is Hades, God of the Underworld.

In the movie, it is realized that within years, the planets are going to align perfectly, which will be an opportunity to bring back the Titans that were contained long ago, and Hades wants to take it and use the Titans to take control over Mount Olympus, the home of the Gods. However, when he finds out that Zeus's son, Hercules, will get in his way later on, he has him become mortal by drinking some sort of potion while he is still a baby. Years later, Hercules grows up to be this very strong man, who falls in love with a woman name Meg... who just so happens to be under Hades's control.

The day of the planets' perfect alignment is approaching, so Hades visits Hercules, and they make a deal: Hercules loses his strength for some time, and Meg doesn't get hurt. Afterwards, Hades goes and frees the Titans to take over Mount Olympus. However, later on, during a conflict with Hercules and a giant monster, a pillar falls, and Meg pushes Hercules out of the way from the falling pillar, thus hurting her and breaking the deal. With this, Hercules goes to Mount Olympus and strikes against Hades.

But wait, what about Meg? Oh yeah, she dies. Her soul also goes down to the Underworld. Because of this, Hercules goes to the Underworld to save her soul, and to Hades' surprise, he does save her soul from the River Styx without dying himself. Afterwards, Hercules punches the God of the Underworld, thus plunging him into the river and ending his terror.

Though this resume of evil is fine, what's more prominent is Hades' fury. He is very susceptible to anger and definitely isn't afraid to show it. He can calm down quickly on occasions, but most of the time, he still simmers after the fire. That's not a figurative way of speaking either; his hair literally is fire. That's pretty cool honestly.

However, with all of this, he is best known for one thing: he is hilarious. He has moments that can cause a laugh, like, "Woah, was my hair out?" Pfft. Yes. In my opinion, though, what makes it so funny to me that this is not your typical God of the Underworld. It's so in contrast to what people normally see Hades to be like that Hades in this movie is just great. The way he talks is very different as well, adding to the hilarity and irony of it all. He doesn't have a booming voice, like "I AM THE GOD OF THE UNDERWORLD," but instead, he's like, "Baboom. Name's Hades, God of the Underworld." I just love it so much.

His hilarity, contrast from the stereotypical Hades, terrible anger, evil deeds, and popularity puts the God of the Underworld at #4 on my list.

3.) Doctor Facilier- Princess and the Frog
Now we're getting to my absolute favorite villains: the top 3. To begin, we have the one and only Shadow Man, the voodoo doctor from New Orleans.

Let's start by talking about what he did. After meeting Prince Naveen and Lawrence, a scheme came to him, and he started it by inviting the two to his emporium, where they got a card reading of their past, present, and future. Prince Naveen would receive the money he needs in the future, and Lawrence would become the King. However, when they shook hands with the Doctor, they both got unexpected results. Instead of money being the "green" the Prince was promised, he was turned into a frog, and Lawrence was turned into Prince Naveen. A portion of Prince Naveen's blood is contained in a little skull-like necklace charm to seal this transformation. The next steps were to have Lawrence marry Charolette, the daughter of the richest man in town, kill said man, and have the money split between Lawrence and the Doctor.

However, things turned a bit unexpected when Prince Naveen, at this point in frog form, mistakes regular woman Tiana as a princess at a party and has her kiss him... which turns her into a frog as well. What a twist on an old fairytale. From then on out, they seek to find a way to turn themselves back into humans. Wait, why am I explaining this part? I'm here to talk about the villain, not the movie itself. Ah well.

Anyway, if turning the tables on Prince Naveen and Lawrence weren't enough, there is a point in the movie where Dr. Facilier actually offers to sell his "friends on the other side", AKA his voodoo friends, just about all the souls in New Orleans. Wow. That's something, all right. However, this is necessary for Facilier here, because he needs to keep his "friends" happy. In fact, one could argue that he is actually scared of these demons and tries to please them so he doesn't end up dead.

Speaking of death, he doesn't end up escaping death after all. During a conflict with him and Tiana, she actually breaks the necklace charm used to keep Prince Naveen as a frog and Lawrence as Prince Naveen, and this causes the Doctor's "friends" to finally turn against him. They come out of the ground and appear at the scene, and they suck him and his Shadow into the spirit world. Quite a neat death scene, if I have to be honest.

Oh yeah, did I mention that Dr. Facilier has a Shadow that doesn't follow his movements? It acts sort of like his minion, in a way, and it's really cool.

Also, I feel as though it's mandatory to mention his villain song: Friends on the Other Side. It's one of the highlights of the movie, the spectacular array of colors on screen and the animation of the whole scene. It's all so wonderful, and it definitely has to be one of my favorite Disney villain songs of all time. I also love the way Facilier is animated in this scene; his movements are very smooth and wonderful.

His wicked scene, great Shadow, neat death scene, and excellent villain song put Doctor Facilier above nearly all the rest at #3.

2.) Professor Ratigan- The Great Mouse Detective
Where do I even begin?

Let's start off by saying that this villain is voiced by Vincent Price. Yes, I'm not joking. It's Vincent Prince in the role, and in my opinion, that automatically makes Ratigan all the more awesome. The guy has so much fun voicing Ratigan, and one can definitely tell. In fact, this role was actually one of Price's favorites, mainly because he had two songs. This villain has two songs. The first is The World's Greatest Criminal Mind, and the second is Goodbye So Soon.

I absolutely love World's Greatest Criminal Mind. It's one of my favorite parts of the movie, and it's a joy to watch and listen to. Price actually does a pretty good job in singing, too. However, what I think puts this song over the top for me is that Ratigan interrupts the song to kill one of his own henchmen. That's right, he literally kills Bartholomew, one of his henchmen, just because he called him a rat. It wasn't by his own hand, too; he feeds Bartholomew to his pet cat Felicia. And after he does, he pretty much forces the rest of his minions to finish the song. Jeez...

However, this song is one of other moments in the movie that shows how egotistical and yet how extravagant he is. It's pretty funny how egotistical he is, and his extravagance is just great. Honestly, though, I would do a poor job in describing it much more than I have already; you just need to see it for yourself.

As for Goodbye So Soon, it's the song that plays on a record player as Basil and his ally Dawson supposedly await for their death. It's not a defining moment, in my opinion, but it's not bad.

Did I mention that he has a pet cat? A pet cat. I'm not joking in the slightest. Just the very fact that a ra- er, mouse, has a pet cat is just so awesome. Just goes to show how awesome Ratigan is.

I would go on to mention his crimes in the movie, but honestly, they're just about overshadowed by his personality and other awesome characteristics. I'm just going to say that he has a toymaker build a robotic queen that would name him ruler of Mousedom, and he also tries to kill our hero Basil the detective with a very elaborate trap. It's not one of the best evil plans around, but the villain himself makes up for it entirely.

Also, I mentioned earlier that Price seemed to very much enjoy voicing this guy. Well, that spread to the character himself. Ratigan just has so much enjoyment out of being so diabolical and evil that's it's hard for one to not enjoy it as well. I had so much enjoyment out of watching this character go around and just be so wicked.

However, within the outward extravagant appearance lies a terrible monster full of wrath within, and this is shown a number of times throughout the movie. Even with his attempts to hide his true self, though, it does come forth in the end and results in the fight between Basil and Ratigan. Well, actually, it's more of a one-sided fight. Basil just wants to leave the scene, but Ratigan is determined to make sure that the detective does not make it out of it alive. Seeing him transform into this monster is definitely not pleasant.

In the end, he doesn't get a very good ending. Just as he strikes Basil off the Big Ben clock and believes that he's won, the clock strikes, and the bell causes him to lose his balance and fall to his death. How come a lot of Disney villains fall to their deaths anyway? There's Queen Grimhilde, Gaston, Frollo, Maleficent, and Ratigan. I'm sure there are more, but those are the ones that come to me from the top of my head.

Oh, and one more thing: you know how most characters have either brain or brawn? Well, guess what? This guy has both. He has the brain to concoct evil schemes and pull them off, not to mention come up and set up the intricate death trap for Basil, and he has the strength and stamina to throw Bartholomew several feet away from him, break through a pile-on of mice, pedal his aircraft to about triple, if not more than that, speed of what it was going at before, and run all the way from the Big Ben clock to the very top of the tower and still be able to fight Basil afterward. Very impressive.

The wonderful performance by Vincent Price, great villain song, extravagance and ego, the fact that he has a pet cat (seriously, I cannot get over that fact,) and combination of brains and brawn put Ratigan above almost all the rest as my 2nd favorite Disney villain.

BUT...

There is one villain that defeats them all, even Dr. Facilier and even Ratigan. There is but one villain that, in my opinion, is so great that he cannot be placed any lower than the #1 spot.

Let me recap very quickly before we get to my favorite Disney villain.
#15: Captain Hook
#14: Yzma
#13: Shan-Yu
#12: Evil Queen
#11: Mother Gothel
#10: Oogie Boogie
#9: Jafar
#8: Scar
#7: Judge Frollo
#6: Ursula
#5: Maleficent
#4: Hades
#3: Dr. Facilier
#2: Ratigan

And now I must answer the lingering question: who is my favorite Disney villain?

The answer is...

**MAJOR SPOILER ALERT**

1.) King Candy/Turbo- Wreck-It Ralph
I wonder how many people are going to question me for this choice. From what I have seen, not too many people have this villain on their lists of their favorite Disney villains. Perhaps this is because King Candy (or should I call him Turbo?) is one of the more recent Disney villains, and a lot of the lists I have seen were released before Wreck-It Ralph came out.

However, I am not afraid to admit my opinion, and I believe that King Candy is not only one of the most entertaining Disney villains, but he is also one of the most ingenious to date. Let me explain why.

After Vanellope takes Wreck-It Ralph's medal to enter the random roster race, we are shown more of the colorful world of Sugar Rush at the race track's starting line. At a tall stand with a curtain hanging down, we see Sour Bill introducing the ruler of Sugar Rush, and after he says, "All hail our rightful ruler, King Candy," the King himself comes out from the curtain, and we get a glimpse of how entertaining the character is.

He has a distinct manner that separates him from all of the other characters in Wreck-It Ralph. The way he moves, the way he talks, it's all comes together to create a very entertaining character. In fact, I'll go so far as to say that he is one of the most entertaining characters I've ever seen in an animated movie. A couple of my favorite moments of his include:

"You wouldn't hit a guy with glasses would do?"
"You hit a guy with glasses... That's, hehe, well-played."

"Salmon. Salmon, it's obviously salmon- what are you doing here?!"

Not to mention, another part of his character sometimes has me laughing: when he's mad or upset about something, he giggles. I have no idea why, but I always found that amusing. Then again, the way he laughs almost always has me laughing along with him.

Though, even with this personality, he is very manipulative. The best example of this comes from the part of the movie when King Candy tells Wreck-It Ralph why Vanellope cannot race. The story is actually very believable and seems like it could actually happen should Vanellope race. It convinces Ralph, and he goes on to destroy the kart that he and Vanellope made. With destroying the kart, not only does Ralph destroy Vanellope's dreams of being a real racer, but he also destroys the symbol of their friendship, thus making the damage all the worse for both Vanellope and Ralph.

However, when Ralph returns to his own game and finds out that the game is out of order, from a balcony, he sees something that not even King Candy could prevent: a picture of Vanellope on the side of the game console. This leads him to confront Sour Bill about it, and the sour candy tells about King Candy's attempt to delete Vanellope's code. This also reveals the actual reason why Vanellope cannot race: the game would reset, thus making her a real racer again.

Later on, Ralph then gets Fix-It Felix to fix the kart, and this allows Vanellope to enter the race after all. She does enter the race, and she manages to bump up her position on the board little by little until she is in 2nd place, 1st being held by King Candy. In a wintry-themed portion of the race, Vanellope catches up to the King and passes him. He tries to catch up to her, until he finds another way. He takes another route, which Vanellope thinks is just a cliff with no road ahead. After going to a cave-like setting with a Rainbow Road-esque track. After going along with twists and ups and downs of the first part of this track, King Candy finally catches up to her, and he tries to hit her with a pole that came from his kart. However, when she grabs onto the pole as well, her glitching reveals a very terrible secret about King Candy...

He is actually the infamous Turbo.

Here's a little story about Turbo: He was the main character of the very popular game TurboTime, and he loved the attention he got. However, Roadblasters came in and stole his thunder, so he left his game and tried to take over this one. However, in doing so, he caused both games to become unplugged, which is the equivalent of death for video games and their characters.

What no one knew is that he hid away for so many years until Sugar Rush came in. Before anyone played the game, he came in and took over, making him ruler. He then continued to be the ruler of Sugar Rush for 15 years.

15 years.

This makes Turbo one of the most successful Disney villains of all time. The fact that he actually managed to keep his true identity a secret also shows how great he is as well. There was not one slip-up of the tongue, nothing of the sort. Quite impressive!

Not only this, but the reveal was just so unexpected, and when I saw it in theaters for the first time, my jaw dropped. It was also done so well that the whole scene was just great. This is why I said that King Candy is one of the most ingenious Disney villains, because this whole scheme he had and this reveal were just perfect. It only makes me appreciate not only this character, but also Disney movies in a whole.

Going back to the movie, I should mention that at the very same time as this race, there is a Cy-Bug infestation going on in the game. In the movie, Ralph accidentially brought a Cy-Bug with him to Sugar Rush, and it made residence in the game underground and multiplied to unbelievable numbers. The eggs eventually hatched, and now a grand infestation is taking place.

Meanwhile, Vanellope manages to trick Turbo by glitching before he could ram her kart into a wall. This causes him to bump into the wall, and she takes the lead. However, when he tries to catch up to her, a Cy-Bug suddenly swoops down and eats him before he could exit the cave.

It should be noted that Cy-Bugs take on the form of whatever it eats.

Seeing how terrible is infestation has gotten, Ralph realizes that the only way to stop the Cy-Bugs is with a beacon, a large light that the Cy-Bugs fly into, and gets the idea to go atop a large mountain called Diet Cola Mountain. At the top is numerous numbers of Mentos, and knowing what Mentos do to Cola, you can put two and two together. When he gets to the top of this mountain, he begins punching the Mentos to try and get them to fall into the mountain and to the pit of Diet Cola below. However, as he is doing so, something hits him and sends him flying across the top of the mountain.

It turns out to be King Candy in a Cy-Bug form.

I need to say this now: King Candy's Cy-Bug form, or King Cy-Bug as I like to call him, is absolutely AWESOME. The picture you see of King Candy in the countdown picture is him in his Cy-Bug form, but even then, that little picture does not fully describe how awesome King Cy-Bug is. His appearance is actually somewhat frightening as well, seeing his vastly increased size, and he definitely appears as a much bigger threat than before. I just absolutely love it!

Not only that, but he gets a couple of dark lines as well:

"I should thank you... but it'd be more fun to kill you!"

"Ooo, look at that, it's your little friend! Let's watch her die together, shall we?"

Anyway, him and Ralph have a bit of a fight at the top of this mountain, and the battle itself is, while short, so awesome. The atmosphere is perfect, the blood red sky above and light coming from the floor from the boiling Diet Cola, and it shows King Cy-Bug at his best. He has sharp claws, is able to roll into a wheel-like form, and can fly. In fact, he uses that last ability to fly into the air and high above Diet Cola Mountain. When he gets to a good enough height, he even forces Ralph to watch as Vanellope could possibly die from the army of Cy-Bugs. Wow. That's dark.

However, Ralph frees himself from King Cy-Bug's grasp and falls toward Diet Cola Mountain. He then gives a final punch to the Mentos, causing them all to fall and toward the Diet Cola below. Before he could die by the upcoming Diet Cola geyser, Vanellope appears and saves him from his death. They escape the mountain in time.

King Cy-Bug, on the other hand, is not nearly as fortunate. Because he's part Cy-Bug, he begins to fly into the beacon. However, King Candy and Turbos' personalities did not completely fuse, and while King Candy wants to fly into the beacon, Turbo tries to avoid death. This creates complete mental anguish within this character, and that makes his end all the worse. Despite this, the King Candy side of him wins in the end, and he flies into the beacon.

With his very fun and entertaining personality, manipulative nature, very successful rule in Sugar Rush, brilliant reveal of his real self, and spectacular final form and final moments, King Candy/Turbo stands as #1 on this list and my favorite Disney villain of all time.

I hope you like my list! Feel free to state your own opinion in the comments, and Happy Halloween!

I own none of these movies and these villains, for they all belong to Disney and company.

Captain Hook is without a doubt my personal favourite Disney Villain of all time. He's heavily overshadowed by the other Disney villains like Scar, Maleficent, Jafar, Hades, etc. and he only gets seen as a joke all because he becomes a big coward when he's being chased by a giant bloodthirsty predator and also mostly being referred to as a bumbling idiot. I see Captain Hook in a different way. He's definitely villainous as he murdered one of his own crew just for annoying him and wouldn't hesitate to kill children but he's just a man desperate for revenge as he is endlessly tormented by Peter Pan, who ruined his life by being cursed as he is stalked by a giant bloodthirsty saltwater crocodile. Hook can just never catch a break. Then when he's scared, it shows him having a very human side. He's vulnerable which makes you feel sorry for the guy. Captain Hook probably also has PTSD and would have a panic attack everytime he hears a clock. Also, who can deny that he is definitely very suave, elegant and shows he can be a gentleman. Even though he can be manipulative and a double-crosser, he has his reasons for doing the terrible things he does. He’s a very cunning pirate that’s more than just a guy waving his sword. He also treats his sidekick as more of a friend than just a minion, despite his clumsiness. Of all villains, he feels like the most human character. He has the most understandable motive for being a villain while being the most well-written character. Also, in defense of Captain Hook, who wouldn't be afraid when you're being stalked by a giant bloodthirsty beast?

Also, I never really looked too deep into it but you made a very good point about King Candy. Not even Scar was able to stay king for as long as Candy did. Most villains only become ruler for a brief amount of time. Although, Candy's comical personality could get a little too over the top for me at times. I also thought his Cybug form was pretty cool.
